Hat on a Card

Greetings one and all, I hope you are well.
I realise that the title of this post sounds a little Dr Suess-esque but I couldn't resist!  I have some exciting news to share today too :)

Firstly, my card.  The design used for the focal point of this card is from the wonderful House of Zandra (she has hundreds of fabulous quirky images!).  I cut just a couple of the decoupage layers out as I didn't think the simplicity of this layout called for too much.  A dab of green glitter on the wings of the bird and some of the stems and we're done.  Mounted onto black vellum and finished off with a couple of Candi dots and a simple sentiment which reads: 'Just for you on your Special Day'

I made this a while ago, but with my struggle to find internet haven't had chance to post it before now.

I hope you like it, please let me know what you think.

Now.....
My online shop is finally open!!! I am so happy about this :)
It is a continual work in progress as items are being added daily, but there are crafting supplies already listed from some fabulous manufacturers so please pop along and have a look.
For you lovely followers of my blog, a discount (who doesn't llike a discount, right?!) of 10% when you spend £15 or more if you use the code: CSBLOG at checkout :)

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day and, until next time, Happy Crafting :)

Baby Layers

Greetings one and all, I trust you are well?
I have had quite the rollercoaster of a life just lately, with a huge dip most recently. So, while going about the slow crawl up again, I am making an effort to get blogging again-when I have internet access that is!
I made this card in a workshop a while ago and have no recollection of ever blogging it-so, here we are!

The stamp is by Hobby Art (I don't recall where I got the 'baby' stamp though!). Coloured with Promarkers and cornered with Candi.
This method is great for using up oddments of card in your 'box' (we all have one right?!) each card is layered on dark blue and placed randomly on the base card, then the topper I made was foam padded on top-sandwiching a doily in between.  The doily, I haphazardly added colour to using distress inks.

I have made a whole bunch of these in different colours! The colouring is relaxing and I could do with reducing the amount of random card oddments I have all over the place!

I hope everyone out there is enjoying the summer (or winter if you are in the Southern Hemisphere!) and takes their crafting with them, where ever they may go :)

Make the most of your day, every day
and, until next time, Happy Crafting!

Classy Shoe

Greetings one and all, I hope you are well.
The weather has been kind lately here in North Wales but unfortunately crafting and blogging do not appreciate that and I have been inside during this good weather! It's a good job that I enjoy creating ;)

There is a brand new challenge starting today over at Scribble & Scrap, so make sure you head on over and enter that this fortnight (enter it more than once, you know you want to!). This is my inspiration there right now:

The central image is a Stamp by Chloe, gilding flakes on a black background look fabulous-the flakes are IndigoBlu Lancashire Rose.  I made the central image during a crafting session at a friend's house so the dies used to cut out the black and gold are hers (I have no idea of manufacturer).
I wanted to stick with the black and gold as I think it looks elegant-the sentiment is from Imagination Crafts and I stamped it in gold but wanted it to stand out more so I used a gel pen to go over it and to work the faux stitching around it.  A handmade black bow in one corner sets the shoe image off beautifully.
The black embossed card, black ribbon, gems and sparkler are all from my crafty stash.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your creations over at the Scribble & Scrap Challenge :)
Have a fabulous rest of the weekend and, until next time, Happy Crafting.

Springtime Layers at Simply Papercraft

Greetings to all.  I hope you are well.
I also hope that the sun is shining wherever you may be :)
It has been lovely here for a few days (I am scheduling this post so watch it be raining on Sunday!!-not my fault if it is!) so it's difficult to be indoors crafting, especially when Frodo is outside basking in the sun-he's such a lively kitty :)

A new challenge is live now over at Simply Papercraft-the theme is 'Lots of Layers' and Sassy Studios is the sponsor. I have used the image 'Sassy Rapunzel' to create my card today.  She is fabulous-stunning regardless of the colour scheme chosen for her!
My Rapunzel is a brunette, with just a hint of red. Her lovely long locks are adorned with lots of pretty flowers-that just had to be purple! ('tis my favourite colour after all!) I wish I had eyelashes like her!!
The layers are taken mostly from the Peacocks and Paisley 12x12 pad I have used previously-it's just fabulous and the colours are so in keeping with Spring that it felt appropriate :)
The die cuts and paper flowers came from my stash along with the gems and sparklers.  The sentiment about friendship makes the card useful for many occasions.
Thanks for stopping by, let me know what you think :)
Enjoy the warm weather and, until next time, Happy Crafting.

Pretty in Pink

Greetings one and all, I trust you are well on this, another beautiful sunny day in the UK.
I have been doing some organising (not too much-don't want to cause panic!), as I am in the very slow process of moving all my art and crafting gear out of my dad's garage and down to what will soon be my new work space-an incredibly slow process as I only have a Skoda Fabia so can't take massive amounts of stuff, plus, I keep finding things I need to use immediately!!

Today's creation sees me stepping outside of my comfort zone again and using pink! Not only that, I am relatively new to the world of digital crafting (my printer was rubbish! Now I use my dad's!!).
As I was clearing away crafting things I have had piled up on the dining room table, I stumbled across some Polkadoodles images that I had printed a while ago (as soon as I got the CD if I'm honest!) and I have just HAD to use a couple of them!
So, this is my favourite of the digi stamps on the CD I got-I used the pre coloured version and some of the co-ordinating papers aswell as a matching bow.

I lightly added some Victorian Velvet distress ink to the die cut image as I think that sets it off beautifully.  The piece of vintage music paper, handmade flowers and gems are from my stash and the sentiment is one from a book of loads of them by Hunkydory.
Thanks for stopping by, let me know what you think :)
Enjoy your day and, until next time, Happy Crafting.

Gorjuss Decoupage

Greetings one and all, I hope you are well.
Apologies for the silence lately-I've been incredibly busy behind the scenes, details will be forthcoming very soon.
Today's share is a card made using specifically bought papers as I just cannot resist the Gorjuss range!  I think this little girl is fabulous :)
All papers seen are from the Santoro Gorjuss A4 paper pack, the central image is decoupaged and that was also in the same kit. The butterflies and bow are from the packaging!

I went with 'For You' as a sentiment as that is applicable for many instances, the adhesive letters are also in the papercrafting pack.  I feel like an advert for them! I just really like the colours and images used-it's a non girly little girl, totally made for me!!

I hope you are all having fun with your crafting, although now the sun has graced us with its prescence here for a few days, there is valid reason to be outside rather than in your craft room!!
Thanks for stopping by, let me know what you think :)
Enjoy the sun and, until next time, Happy Crafting.

Peacocks at Scribble & Scrap

Greetings one and all, I hope you are well.
Today sees a new challenge begin at Scribble & Scrap, so here is my DT inspiration for it.  A slight departure for me as it is all cutting and sticking but the papers were so lovely, I couldn't help but get the pad!

I adore peacocks-they are such magnificent creatures, and their feathers are nature's works of art, filled with beautiful colours so as soon as I laid eyes on this, I had to have it!  All of the papers and images are from a 12x12 paper pad by Heartfelt Creations-I think it is called Peacocks and Paisley (something like that any way!).
The central image I just cut out and rounded the corners! I used two 6x6 papers staggered and curled the edges of the top one before using a paper ribbon strip horizontally to encourage the recipient to 'Have a Beautiful Day' and then the central image and a sentiment from my stash were attached using foam pads for a little dimension.
The finishing touch-the bling in the bottom corner comes from Ocean Aurora Sparklers from The Hobby House.
That's my card done, fastest I have ever made a card I think!!
The Scribble & Scrap Challenge is Always Anything Goes, so you can enter pretty much anything you make, ever!  Stop by and join us and show us your creations :)
Thanks for reading this and, until next time, Happy Crafting!

Steampunk at Simply Papercraft

Greetings one and all, I hope you are well.
I have some exciting news today (yes, again!), I have been chosen to join the design team for a new challenge blog-Simply Papercraft. I am so pleased to be part of this.  Today sees the launch of challenge #2 Steampunk/Freestyle and this is my inspiration for it (yes, another easel card!!!).

I absolutely LOVE steampunk so making this was a pleasure :)  The fabulous image is a digi stamp from the sponsor of this challenge-Stitchy Bear Stamps.  I coloured her with Promarkers (hair and skin) and Derwent watercolour pencils before fussy cutting her out and adding her to a die cut that I had lightly stencilled with brown and gold ink through a cogs mask.
The die cut cogs I got from my stash (a stash that was created when visiting a crafting friend who has many dies!!).  The cogs were again stencilled on the base of the card before adding a cut off cog stopper featuring the sentiment.
I have many steampunk themed charms in my stash but, as I moved home just this weekend, I am not sure where they are!  These few cog charms though definately belong on this card!!
Thanks for stopping by, let me know what you think and, until next time, Happy Crafting!

Gone All Girly

Greetings one and all, I hope you are well.
The online shop is slowly coming along! Well, I have listed a few things in it so it feels like progress to me! Still a long way to go though!
I thought I had already blogged this, but, upon reviewing my blog archive, it seems that I haven't!  This card is quite the departure for me, using papers and central image that came as a freebie with a crafting magazine and oodles of flowers and gems-pretty darn girly, right?!

I haven't made an easel card for a while and I do like them so don't be surprised if you see more of these blogged in the future!
Purple is just a fabulous colour, hence the several shades of it here!!

I hope you had a great Easter and didn't overindulge on the chocolate too much ;)
Let me know what you think of today's card and, until next time, Happy Crafting!

Clean and Simple

Greetings one and all, I hope you are well.
Today's post is a simple make, understated, flowery and a bit sparkly :)  A clean and simple birthday card-perfect for any woman, even if she's not girly!

I am scheduling this post as, while you read this, I will be packing up all my belongings in preparation for moving out of my home! Staying with my dad and brother for a while as I search for a place of my own, Frodo loves it there as he has more people to play with!!
So, however you are spending your day, I hope it's enjoyable :)

Fairy Birthday Wishes

Greetings to you all, I hope you are well.
Today's card is a black and white (I think monochrome is classy!) fairy themed birthday card-could be given to a child or an adult as magic is ageless ;)

The central image is a topper from Lelli-Bots Crafts, from the Fairy Magic kit (available in my store once I get it up and running!).  The topper is uncoated so colour can be added using alcohol markers, or inks but I have left this one uncoloured.  The black and white star backing paper is also in the kit, along with the sentiment.

Taking inspiration from a card made by a friend of mine, I used white card embossed with a criss cross design and placed a pearl at each of the crossing points-I absolutely love this look!
The finishing touches: silver ribbon, black feather and the rounded corners of the top two layers, make this a classy card that is, at the same time, fun :)
I am a fan of fairies-magic in general really!  Even though I trained as a scientist and am incredibly logically minded, I do like the idea that there are things that cannot be explained (yet).  I want to believe in magic!!
I was once described as having a 'head full of magic' and I quite like that phrase so I will keep that as a way to describe myself!!
Ok, enough of me talking about myself!

Not So Blue

Greetings one and all, I trust you are well.  I am working on getting a proper shop up and running on my website as I now sell crafting supplies in addition to the things I create :). So today's creation is a card made using supplies from the first company I am stocking-The Hobby House!

The topper, blue backing papers and sparkly centre for the flower are all from The Hobby House and I have all in stock!

I am not usually one to use a topper, as I like to get messy and ink up my own but these are fabulous and I think I will be using more of them!

The die cut frame is one that I was given by my friend and I thought it was perfect for this image.  Blue is my favourite colour as it is the only colour that starts out really light and goes to really dark without ever becoming anything but blue ;)  So, many blues on this card!

I hope that you have enjoyed looking at this as much as I enjoyed making it!

Sparkly Butterflies

Greetings to you all, I hope you are well.
Great news-my kitten (Frodo is his name!) is back to normal!! I took him to the vet after two days of him being not well and he had an infection in his gum after losing a tooth.  An antibiotic injection and lots of love has seen him return to his usual adorable mischievious self :)

With the recovery of my kitten, I have been able to craft again! I also ordered an easel using a voucher my brother got me at Christmas, so I will be painting again soon too!

Today sees a brand new challenge over at the Scribble & Scrap Challenge, and my DT inspiration piece is one I made using products I am stocking in my store (coming soon to cyber space-once I figure out how to do it!!).

It's a beautiful sparkly card-I love butterflies :)
I used:
Imagination Crafts: Butterfly Background Patterned card, Amethyst Sparkle Medium, Flutterby Stencil
acetate
The Hobby House Rhinestone Sparkler
Hunkydory sentiment
ribbon and silver card from my stash

I used the stencil and the sparkle medium to decorate the edges of the acetate before putting the card together.
I like the effect it gives, let me know what you think :)
Have a great day and, until next time, Happy Crafting xx

A Dragonfly Plaque

Greetings to you all, I hope you are well.
I've been a little quiet this past week, apologies for this but my kitten is unwell and I am a worrier so haven't been crafting the last few days.  He seems to be himself now but isn't eating :(
He's still mischievious and into everything and the vet said he is fine, but until he eats like he did I will worry (any suggestions will be greatly appreciated).
Today's crafting share is something I made a couple of weeks ago but hadn't gotten around to photographing.  It's an mdf 6x6 plaque painted with a base coat of vanilla chalk paint before being decorated with a stunning sparkly dragonfly.

The dragonfly is a stencil from Peerless Crafts and I used Welsh Gold Sparkle Medium from Imagination Crafts to really make this image pop.  The sentiment is a stamp by Chloe done in Vintage Photo distress ink.  The finishing touches; gold gilding wax, black ribbon and amber gems are all from my stash.

That's it from me today, let me know what you think :)

Made it Myself!

Greetings to you all, I hope you are well today.
(I am scheduling this post as I have a busy day Monday but wanted to share this card with you!)

This is a make from a few weeks ago-I made my own background paper using a script stamp and a butterfly stamp and the ink splats stamps (all by Visible Image). I stamped the butterflies, then masked them while I stamped the script and the splats before colouring them using promarkers.

I love this home made backing paper so much that I didn't want to cover it up  with other papers or a giant central image, so I stuck with the butterfly theme and used a Stampendous stamp, just in black ink so that the colour of the background really pops.

The handmade bow, metal charm and gems are from my stash, and if I could get away with using teal pearlescent card on everything, I would!!!

Ok, that's me done for today. I hope your day is awesome whatever you are doing and I shall be back soon with makes using NEW crafty items!!! (I've done a little craft shopping!!)
Thanks for stopping by and, until next time, Happy Crafting xx

Exciting Times!

Greetings to you all, I hope you are well.  I have some exciting news to share.........
I am now a member of the Scribble & Scrap Design Team!! :)
So, without further ado (I know, I am usually so much about the ado!), I bring you my first creation as DT!

The stamp is an adorable one from Lili of the Valley, and I went with gilding flakes so I could have another play!! (I think it looks awesome though)

The flowers are a selection of handmade ones by The Hobby House.

The ivory card blank (8x8) and the kraft card have been distressed around the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink, that same ink was also used for the sentiment-a Chloe stamp.

The challenge over at Scribble & Scrap is always Anything Goes so I do hope you will join us there and share your creations :)

Goth Chick Birthday

Greetings to you all, I hope you are well.
My back pain has eased just enough to allow me to move about, so I might have to do something exciting today-like laundry! It needs to be done, doesn't it? Then I will spend my day alternating between card making and knitting-I am having a totally crafty weekend :)  Whatever you are doing, make sure you fit in something you enjoy xx
So, the make I am sharing with you today is a card I would love to get for my birthday and I had so much fun creating it.

How fabulous is that topper?!! It's from the Gothic Grunge kit by Lelli-Bots Crafts.  I added the red to the image using a pro marker, and slightly distressed the edges with a bit of colour and stuck a couple of teeny Meiflower crystal gems on it. I love it :)
The sentiment I inked a splash of colour on and the brick wall backing paper come in that same kit, I just used a bit of it as I did not want to cover up all of the red feathery backing that I made myself (I used a Visible Image stamp and just distressed the rest of the background).
The black glitter card, gems, feather and ribbon are from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you have enjoyed seeing this card at least half as much as I enjoyed making it!
Please swing by tomorrow as I have some exciting news to share!!!!
Until next time, Happy Crafting xx

A go at gilding!

Greetings to you all, I hope this post finds you well.
After a busy couple of days, I am experiencing some pain so today (Thursday) has been a day of rest (well, knitting!) and tomorrow I plan on making cards all day!  It's my dad's birthday next week so I want to make him something he will love.
Yesterday there was crafting! My first real go at using actual gilding flakes, I usually just use the gold leaf I have from past artworks.  I have to say that I really enjoyed using them!  I stamped an image with the flitterglu (note to self, don't press down so hard when stamping onto cheap card!) and then applied Yorkshire Dales mega flakes.  I love the resulting effect.

The background paper is from a docrafts 6x6 pad, I distressed the edges with Vintage Photo ink.  As there is sheet music in the background of the stamp, I tore a strip of vintage sheet music and distressed the edges (again with Vintage Photo ink) before placing it across the centre of my card. For interest, I decided to go with quirky and attach the central image at an angle.
I finished with some Frantage in the top right corner and a 'best mum' sentiment in the top left corner.
I used: IndigoBlu flitter flakes starter kit
                             Yorkshire Dales MegaFlakes
Darkroom Door stamp
Peerless Crafts Vintage Music Paper
Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Docrafts Madame Payraud 6x6 Paper Pad

I am liking the finished result, and really enjoyed using gilding flakes so will certainly be using them again soon!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like my card-leave me a comment to let me know what you think, I do enjoy reading them :)
Until next time, Happy Crafting xx

Dragonfly Sparkle

Greetings to you all, hoping you are well.
With the exception of yesterday, I am doing quite well combatting procrastination!  Day 14, I made this card (using a background I had stamped many moons ago!).

The dragonflies are from the Peerless Craft mixed media stencil and I used Sweet Poppy Stencils paste to get them on the page, then different glitters to decorate-I love this technique! If you ever get the opportunity to watch a demo given by the lovely lady of Sweet Poppy, then don't pass it up because she's a real artist with that glitter!

Due to the time of year, I decided to make this a Mothers' Day card :)
I used:
Visible Image stamps: Bronte Border and ink splats
Verafine Onyx Black
Peerless Craft Dragonfly Mixed Media Stencil
Sweet Poppy Pearlescent White Paste
Sweet Poppy Satin Glitter: Purple, Ice Blue and Moss Green
and from my stash: red glitter, purple glitter, twine, teal card, black card, Mothers'Day stamp, bling and Candi.

I'm off now to figure out how to get an online shop (wish me luck-technology is not always my friend!), but I plan to be creating again later xx

Cute Birthday in Blue

Greetings to you, one and all :)
The thing I am most guilty of procrastinating over, is blogging!  I create but then neglect to blog what I have created, so this exercise in giving up procrastination for lent has me making a real effort to get here and share my work.  I am doing ok, I think, but need to do better.  I am my second day in with blogging every day, and blogging twice to catch up for the days I missed!
So, on day 4, I made a birthday card- using the layering up technique again.

I think this central image is so cute! Pretty much everything here is from my stash, so a perfect way to help de clutter ;). The sentiment is actually one on a tape roll by Tonic, really easy to use too- I got mine from Art & Craft House.

Thanks for stopping by and, until next time, Happy crafting!

an Easter card

Greetings one and all, I hope you are well and enjoying your weekend.

As mentioned in yesterday's mixed media post, I have attempted to give up procrastination for lent! I shared makes from day one and day ten yesterday, today I am back with two makes: day two's Easter card is first up.

It's a very different make for me, as there is no ink involved at all!

It's all layering of different papers-a great way to reduce the ever growing pile of off cuts we all inevitably end up having!  Some of the papers and the central image are from a paper pad I got from a lovely friend (I think it's a Docrafts one-it's called Honey & Hugs).  The small chick was part of a magazine freebie ages ago, and I always have Card Candi in my stash :)

Bright and Beautiful

Greetings to you all, I hope you are well.
I've been bed bound for the past few days with a flare up (not fun, let me tell you!) and so am struggling somewhat with a loss of creative mojo, a lack of inspiration/motivation to get anything done.  It took me an entire day but I have something done at last!
I mean to enter the Lavinia Stamps challenge every month but something always gets in the way, so seeing as I have given up procrastination, I have made a concerted effort to get a card made to enter it!

as well as wanting to enter a specific challenge, I was desperate to use my new Brushos!!
So, the background is almost every colour of Brusho that I have! All the stamps used are from Lavinia Stamps, the fairy, toadstools and stars are stamped with Onyx Black Versafine, and the foliage around the edges is stamped with Versafine in Imperial Purple and Deep Lagoon as well as Adirondack Wild Plum.
Sweet Poppy Satin glitter in Ice Blue was added as highlights on the wings and as fairy dust amid the stars (I adore this colour glitter!!) :)

I love getting inky and so had a fabulous time with this make. I'm not sure whether it needs some paper flowers or something in the bottom left corner-what do you think?

Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate you taking the time to read my posts.
For others plagued by loss of creative mojo-I really hope that you find it again soon, just don't stop throwing colour at whatever is your blank canvas of choice!

Twilight Fairy

Greetings to you all!
(This is a post that I thought I had scheduled to go out several days ago! Oops, the joys of a foggy mind!)
I hope you are well, and that the weather where you are is better than the grey rainy cold here!
I'm working on something each day as I have given up procrastination for lent! I will try to post most of my work here, beginning with this from Day 1:

Twilight Fairy is a mixed media canvas.

I covered gesso primed canvas with a purple acrylic paint as a base coat and then once it was dry, covered over most of it lightly with a copper metallic paint (all paints used are acrylic).

Once dry, I stamped creeping ivy and vine leaves around the edges of the canvas (again using the copper metallic and a purple metallic paint).  All stamps used are from Lavinia Stamps.

On the canvas, paper flowers and a moulded fern were arranged and glued in place

They were then painted to match the background.  Dried flowers were added, along with the main image-a topper from Lelli-Bots Crafts.  A touch of iridescent glitter and some gold gilding wax added completed this piece.
I hope you like it, as I really enjoyed creating it.  Let me know what you think.
I'm off to blog some of the other items and schedule posting for them, before getting out my ink and making something else!
Thank you for stopping by, until next time-Happy crafting xx

Short and simple

Greetings to you all!
I hope you are well. I totally thought I had posted this one already, in time for Valentine's day but I have the memory of a goldfish and clearly forgot!
Keeping the design simple, I used just two colours: red and white.  Although designed with valentines in mind, it can equally be used to celebrate an anniversary.

The fabulous image is from a stamp by Indigo Blu, also used: Wow! Sparkling Snow embossing glitter, Memento ink (lady bug) and the red glitter and heart were both from my stash.

I said it was simple today!
Something a little more complex for tomorrow though, so pop back for a look.
Until then, thanks for stopping by and happy crafting! xx

I am not in as much pain today so hope to get to do some art or crafting later on (fingers crossed). Today I am sharing a card that was just so much fun to make, I wanted to take it apart and do it all over again!  (I didn't though, I'm not quite that insane yet!)

It's an easel card-something I don't do very often but think I shall start making more frequently!  I seem to be very fond of purple just lately, and I have always been a huge fan of black so this card practically made itself once I saw the topper near the sparkle medium!

I hope you like it as much as I do!

I used:
Lelli-Bots Crafts: Enchanted Fairies topper and sentiment
                             Distressed Paper

Imagination Crafts:  Amethyst Sparkle Medium
                                 Black Satin Card
                                 Arch of Flowers Stencil

Ranger:  Distress inks in: Black Soot, Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord

Ribbon, handmade flowers, gems, glitter card, purple card and grey card all from my stash.

I would just like to say that the flowers were not made by me, but by a lovely lady called Carol. She makes all kinds of flowers at very reasonable prices (thank you Carol-they are fab).

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you have enjoyed this card, please let me know what you think.
Be careful out and about in this awful weather, and wrap up warm! Until next time-Happy Crafting xx

Rocking Birthday

Greetings to you all, I hope you are well :)
I've been hit by some serious back pain the past couple of days and, while that sounds like plenty of sitting down crafting, the reality has been that I've been barely able to move.  I have managed to finish a card I started the other day before the pain flare, so I am sharing this with you today.

It's another Lelli-bots based card, using the Gothic Grunge toppers and papers (I am such a fan of this kit!).  I tried to keep this one gender neutral so there's a blend in doily and only the slightest hint of colour added to the card. There are lots of layers, but all are monochrome so I think it's a birthday card for a male or a female-let me know if you think I managed it!

I used:
Lelli-Bots Crafts: Gothic Grunge toppers
                             Brick wall paper
                             Distressed paper

Ranger: Salty Ocean distress ink

ribbon, angel hair paper, button, twine, doily, gems, chalk script paper, silver and black card all from my stash.

I really like to read what you think of my creations so please don't hesitate to leave me a comment-even if it's just a tip to help me improve! I'm always learning-it's the best part of sharing my work :)

Thank you for stopping by, until next time-Happy Crafting xx

Hello 2015

Greetings to you all- and a somewhat belated Happy New Year!  2015 already, good grief-how the years are flying by!  I'm not sure where January has gone but it's definitely time for me to get blogging.  While I await the arrival of a new art journal and some essential art supplies, it will be cards that I shall be posting about.  So, without further ado, here is the first blog post of the year:

I have recently treated myself to some toppers and papers from Lelli-Bot Crafts.  Using toppers is a departure from my usual card making so I found it quite challenging at first-but I'm pretty hooked now!  Here is a 7x7 card featuring a topper from the 'Gothic Grunge' collection as the central image.

Seeing as I don't feel like I have actually crafted if I don't have any ink on me, I added a touch of colour around the edge of the monochrome topper so that it blended with the background, I used the same ink as I used to make the backing paper.
I used:
Lelli-Bot Crafts- Gothic grunge topper
                            Distressed paper
                            Brick wall paper

Distress inks- Dusty Concord
                       Black Soot
                       Weathered Wood

Flying birds stamp by Visible Image
White pearl Wow! Embossing powder
Eggplant Adirondack ink

Doily, grey shimmer card, silver card, gems and ribbon are from my stash.

I had fun creating this, I hope you have enjoyed seeing it-please do let me know what you think.
Until next time, Happy Crafting :)
xx
